Highmore is George, always moping around, clearly a brilliant artist but going nowhere. Roberts is Sally: ultra-pretty and popular but lonely. She sees in George not the passive-aggressive pest the rest of us see but a kindred spirit. Things go from there. It is all too similar to the equally fatuous teen-angst movie It's Kind of a Funny Story, also featuring Roberts's white-bread presence.
